Calling All Storytellers: "Tales Under the Texas Sun" Needs Your Voice!
The Cameron Community Voice is officially opening submissions for our short story competition, “Tales Under the Texas Sun”.
Cameron, TX - Do you have a story waiting to be told? Whether you are a budding novelist, a seasoned poet, or someone with a great tale about life in our community, now is the time to put pen to paper. The Cameron Community Voice is officially opening submissions for our short story competition, “Tales Under the Texas Sun”.
We are looking to celebrate local talent across all generations. This is your opportunity to share your creativity and be recognized by your community.
Competition Categories
We want to hear from everyone! We have separated the competition into three distinct age groups to ensure every voice is heard:
- Young Writers: Ages 11 & Under
- Teen Voices: Ages 12–17
- Adult Creators: Ages 18+
Why Should You Enter?
Beyond the thrill of sharing your work, winners will receive exciting recognition, including:
- Publication: Your winning story will be featured in the Cameron Community Voice newspaper.
- Recognition: Winners will receive official certificates.
- Prizes: Local prizes will be awarded to top entries.

Important: Blind Submission Guidelines
To keep the judging process fair and anonymous, please do not include your name on the actual document containing your story. Instead, include your name, age category, and contact information only in the body of your email.
