CAMERON, Texas — The heavy lifting at Cameron Fitness recently extended far beyond the weight room floor. Gym members and local residents officially wrapped up a highly successful dog food and supply donation drive, bringing in massive relief for the City of Cameron Dog Shelter.

The drive, which ran from April 27 through May 7, culminated in an astonishing total: just under 900 pounds of dog food collected and delivered to the shelter, alongside a massive haul of essential cleaning supplies and care items.

A Community Coming Together

Organized in partnership with Cameron Fitness, the drive allowed community members to drop off donations during regular gym hours, with a dedicated after-hours drop spot right at the office door to accommodate busy schedules.

The initiative targeted highly specific needs outlined by the shelter to keep operations running smoothly. In addition to dry kibble, donors stepped up to provide crucial maintenance and cleaning supplies, including:

 * Bleach and Clorox wipes

 * Laundry detergent and fabric softener

 * Paper towels

 * Durable, tear-resistant dog toys

To maximize the impact, organizers also accepted cash donations throughout the 11-day drive, which were used to purchase bulk dry dog food at the conclusion of the event.

Much-Needed Relief for Shelter Operations

The massive delivery of food and cleaning products brings critical support to the local shelter's daily operations. Shelter representative Sandra, along with a dedicated team of local volunteers, expressed deep gratitude for the gym's initiative and the community's overwhelming response.

Managing a local animal shelter requires a constant influx of supplies, and a 900-pound influx of food ensures that the dogs in care will remain well-fed while resources can be directed toward other veterinary and facility needs.

In a celebratory announcement, Cameron Fitness management shared a heartfelt message of thanks to their community:

"Thank you members!!! It’s a blessing to know we have such good people here at our gym. Thanks to you all we donated just under 900 POUNDS of dog food to our Cameron Dog Shelter!! It is appreciated by Sandra, the volunteers and the dogs!!"

Adopt, Don't Shop

With the drive officially concluded, local organizers are urging residents to keep the momentum going by visiting the shelter to meet the animals currently waiting for their forever homes. The shelter currently has several "darling pups" available for adoption.

Community members interested in volunteering, donating, or exploring adoption options are highly encouraged to visit the City of Cameron Dog Shelter facility and remember the ultimate goal for these shelter residents: Adopt, Don't Shop!
