Hats Off to the Future: Milam County Celebrates the Class of 2026!

MILAM COUNTY — Dust off the lawn chairs, iron those gowns, and get the tissues ready. This Friday, May 22, a familiar, triumphant melody will echo across our communities. The Class of 2026 has officially crossed the finish line.

In a massive, synchronized celebration of youth, dedication, and community pride, high schools across Milam County are holding their commencement ceremonies this Friday evening. Hundreds of local seniors will switch their tassels from right to left, closing a major chapter of their lives and taking their first steps into the future.

A County United in Pride

Whether they are wearing the Maroon and Gray of the C.H. Yoe High Yoemen, the Blue and Gold of the Rockdale Tigers, the Maroon and White of the Thorndale Bulldogs, or the Maroon and White of the Milano Rattlers, this graduating class represents the absolute best of our county.

These students aren’t just leaving with diplomas; they are leaving behind legacies of athletic triumphs, stunning artistic performances, academic achievements, and agricultural excellence. They navigated the challenges of high school together, backed every step of the way by dedicated teachers, proud parents, and small-town communities that define what it means to lift up the next generation.

Where to Celebrate Our Grads this Friday, May 22:

  • C.H. Yoe High School: The home crowd will gather to watch our Yoemen and Lady Yoe walk the stage and celebrate a long-standing tradition of excellence. Ceremony begins at 8:00 PM.
  • Rockdale High School: Tiger Stadium will be roaring as the Class of 2026 takes their final bow under the Friday night lights starting at 8:00 PM.
  • Thorndale High School: The Bulldogs will be out in full force to honor their close-knit, hard-working senior class.
  • Milano High School: The Rattler community is ready to send off its bright and ambitious grads with a proper hometown celebration.

To the Class of 2026

To our graduates: Some of you are heading off to major universities, some are stepping directly into the workforce, others are technical-school bound, and some are answering the noble call to serve our country in the military. No matter where the road leads you—from the bustling streets of big cities to right here at home in Milam County—never forget the roots that grew you.

You’ve shown resilience, heart, and a whole lot of small-town grit.

From all of us at the Cameron Community Voice, we offer our deepest congratulations. Go out there and make us proud, Class of 2026. The world is officially yours!
