LOCAL BAND KCD TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "REBOUND" AHEAD OF UPCOMING EP

CAMERON — Central Texas’s own KCD Band has announced the upcoming release of their new single, “Rebound,” set to drop on Friday, June 5, 2026. The track marks the first public preview of the band’s highly anticipated six-song EP, Love Is Winning, which is scheduled for a full release this fall.

Led by singer-songwriter Casey D. “KCD” Stanislaw, the group—which features Scott D. Taylor on guitar, Jadan Oliver on keys, Scott Nichols on bass, and Joshua Spurling on drums—is entering a more collaborative and studio-driven chapter. The upcoming project is the result of an intensive, year-long recording and arrangement process.

A Universal Message of Recovery

The origins of "Rebound" trace back to early 2024, when Stanislaw wrote the track while helping a close friend navigate a difficult string of personal setbacks. While it began as a personal message of encouragement, it quickly evolved into a broader, more universal anthem about recovery and resilience.

"I didn’t want to lock it into one story," Stanislaw said. "It turned into something more universal than that. It’s about giving yourself space to get right—and knowing you’ll come back."

Musically, the song leans into restraint rather than a typical explosive release, anchoring itself with a simple, cyclical progression and a sing-along refrain. Instead of a traditional bridge, the band utilizes an unconventional mid-song rhythmic shift to create movement.

Lyrically, the song explores the comforting idea that support often exists in places we cannot see.

"There are people pulling for you that you’ll never meet," Stanislaw shared. "That’s the whole point. You’re not as alone as you think you are."

Texas Roots and Studio Craftsmanship

Love Is Winning was recorded across two primary sessions in early 2025 at the renowned Niles City Sound in Fort Worth. Follow-up sessions took place in Justin, Texas, under the guidance of producer and drummer Jordan Richardson.

To bring the track to life, KCD Band collaborated with a seasoned team of studio musicians, including Aden Bubek on bass and acclaimed Texas musician Robert Ellis on acoustic guitar. The band tracked their foundational performances live before spending months layering instrumentation, resulting in a rich mix of organ textures, subtle guitar phrasing, and intricate background vocals.

Stanislaw notes that the song is designed to unfold in stages rather than hitting the listener all at once. "There’s always something else in there if you keep listening," he said.

Positioned mid-sequence on the upcoming EP, "Rebound" is described as a reflective tonal shift for the project—a brief pause, but not a stop, in an otherwise forward-moving collection of music.

About the Band

Since forming in 2017, the Central Texas-based KCD Band has steadily built a dedicated regional following through a catalog rooted in tight collaboration. While their debut release, Twentyseventeen, introduced the band's foundational style, their recent work represents an expansive, mature evolution of their sound.
