CAMERON — On Friday, May 29, the San Andres Masonic Lodge of Cameron proudly presented its highest local honor, the Community Builder Award, to Mrs. Julie Sulak. The award recognizes her outstanding dedication and years of unwavering support to local organizations, schools, and the broader Cameron community. The Masonic fraternity is built upon the foundational tenets of faith, hope, and charity. While the lodge historically focused on recognizing its own members for upholding these values, there was traditionally no formal avenue to honor non-members who mirrored these same principles in their daily lives. To bridge that gap, the Grand Lodge of Texas established the Community Builder Award in the early 2000s. Designed specifically for local lodges to distinguish exceptional citizens, it remains the highest honor a local Masonic lodge can bestow upon a non-Mason. Lodge officials expressed immense pride in celebrating Sulak’s legacy of service. Her deep-rooted commitment to lifting up Cameron's schools and civic organizations made her the clear choice for the 2026 accolade. San Andres Masonic Lodge members Casey Stanislaw and Blake Hairston were on hand Friday to officially present the award to Sulak, thanking her on behalf of the fraternity and the community for making Cameron a better place to live, work, and grow.
