Centered around the Courthouse Square and downtown streets, this weekend’s event invites residents, neighbors, and visitors to spend a relaxed Saturday exploring local shops, discovering artisan creations, enjoying live entertainment, and celebrating the community spirit that makes Cameron special.

From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Historic Downtown Cameron is hosting the “Sip, Shop, Stroll & Stay Awhile: Harvest and Handmade” market experience in conjunction with the Cameron Chamber of Commerce’s 2nd Saturday celebration.
Centered around the Courthouse Square and surrounding downtown streets, this weekend’s festivities invite residents, neighbors, and day-trippers to slow down, explore our hometown shops, discover artisan goods, enjoy live entertainment, and experience the heart of our community.
All Aboard! “Steam Rails and Whistle Tales” Storytime & Model Trains
Families and train enthusiasts of all ages won't want to miss a special afternoon feature: “Steam Rails and Whistle Tales.”
Surrounded by captivating model train displays in motion, a conductor will lead two delightful family-friendly storytimes in the afternoon:
- 1:00 PM: A reading of the classic Little Golden Book “Tootle” by Gertrude Crampton (pictures by Tibor Gergely).
- 2:00 PM: A reading of “Poppy and Sam’s Train Book” based on stories by Heather Amery (illustrated by Stephen Cartwright).
It is the perfect spot to bring the kids, watch the model trains run the tracks, and enjoy nostalgic railway memories brought to life!
Sip, Shop & Stories: Meet Author Mawdiay Faith
The literary fun continues with Sip, Shop & Stories, presented by Jillybean Publishing and The Cameron Community Voice.
Starting at 10:00 AM, head over to Cameron Coffee Company to grab your favorite morning brew and meet featured author Mawdiay Faith. Faith will be on hand throughout the day signing copies and visiting with readers about her books, including the inspiring allegorical tale Fearful’s Journey Through the Desert and The Princess of Everywhere. It’s a wonderful opportunity for book lovers to connect with a talented storyteller and pick up signed copies.
Sweet Treats: Cookie Decorating at Shirley Mae’s Bakery
Looking for a hands-on, sweet activity? Shirley Mae’s Bakery is joining the 2nd Saturday fun with custom Cookie Decorating Kits!
For just $10, each inclusive kit comes with two large sugar cookies, assorted vibrant colors of buttercream frosting, and plenty of sprinkles. You can pull up a chair and decorate right inside the bakery or take your kit home.
Kits go on sale right when 2nd Saturday officially kicks off at 10:00 AM. Supplies are limited for this inaugural event, so be sure to show up early before they sell out! Don’t forget to snap a photo and tag Shirley Mae’s on social media to show off your creations.
