Yoe Nation: Building the Future Through CTE Excellence
Major milestone as four standout students—Amelia Perez, Mariana Hernandez, Lorelai Warner, and Lorena Gil—successfully completed their training for the Level II Security Officer Certification.
CAMERON, TX — At C.H. Yoe High School, the phrase "#ExcellenceIsTheStandard" isn’t just a social media hashtag; it’s a tangible reality reflected in the professional certifications students are earning before they even walk across the graduation stage.
The school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department is currently celebrating a major milestone as four standout students—Amelia Perez, Mariana Hernandez, Lorelai Warner, and Lorena Gil—successfully completed their training for the Level II Security Officer Certification.
More Than Just a Grade: College and Career Ready
This achievement is a significant feather in the cap for the Criminal Justice program. By earning this certification, these students have officially met the rigorous criteria set by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to be classified as College and Career Ready.
The transition from student to professional is now just a few administrative steps away. Once they complete their registration in the Texas Online Private Security (TOPS) system and undergo fingerprinting, they will hold a credential that allows them to enter the workforce immediately.
"We are so proud of how our CTE courses prepare students for the workforce—even when they are still in school!" the district shared in a statement, noting that several other students are also on the verge of completing the same certification.
The Power of CTE at C.H. Yoe
C.H. Yoe High School has cultivated a robust CTE ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. While the Criminal Justice program is currently in the spotlight, it is part of a much larger mission to provide Cameron students with diverse pathways to success.
The school’s CTE programs offer:
- Industry-Recognized Certifications: Giving students a competitive edge in the job market.
- Hands-On Experience: Utilizing modern equipment and scenarios that mimic professional environments.
- Economic Impact: Providing the local community with a skilled, certified workforce ready to contribute to the Texas economy.
A Culture of Success
The success of Perez, Hernandez, Warner, and Gil serves as a blueprint for their peers. By integrating professional standards into the high school curriculum, C.H. Yoe ensures that its graduates aren't just leaving with a diploma—they are leaving with a career.
As the school year progresses, the "Yoe Nation" continues to keep a close eye on its CTE students, expecting even more certifications to follow across various disciplines. Whether it’s in a courtroom, a laboratory, or a security firm, Yoe students are proving that they are ready for whatever the future holds.
