Trunk or Treat Leads a Busy Halloween Season in Milam County
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Milam County is making the most of it.
CAMERON, TX — Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Milam County is making the most of it. The Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Trunk or Treat returns to the downtown square on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and it's just one stop on a full fall calendar — a county fair and rodeo, a fire department fall festival, a turkey-and-dressing fundraiser, and a second trunk-or-treat down the road in Thorndale. Here is what's coming up for the rest of October.
Trunk or Treat on the Downtown Square — Saturday, Oct. 31
The Chamber's annual Trunk or Treat takes over the downtown square on Saturday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, and hundreds of local families are expected to make their way from trunk to trunk collecting candy in a safe, family-friendly setting.
For Chamber members: decorate to win. Decorated vehicles, trunks, and tents are reserved for current Chamber members only, and registration is open now through the Chamber. The traditional best trunk/tent competition will be judged live that evening, with awards for originality, creativeness, best theme, and crowd favorite. Participating businesses provide their own treats to hand out.
Halloween Costume Photo Contest. The fun doesn't end on Halloween night. The Chamber's annual costume photo contest is back: parents can enter one photo per child through the entry form on the Chamber's webpage, with submissions due by noon on November 5. Age-group categories are based on the child's age as of October 31, so be sure your contact information is up to date in case your little ghost or goblin is a winner. (verify before publishing: the Chamber's announcement lists the deadline day as "Wednesday, Nov. 5," but Nov. 5, 2026 falls on a Thursday — confirm the deadline day/date with the Chamber.)
