CAMERON — October's Book of the Month comes with a chance to meet the man who wrote it. Epic fantasy author J.F. Hopper will headline "Sip, Shop & Stories: Meet the Author" on Saturday, October 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cameron Coffee Company — signing books, talking storycraft, and meeting readers all day. The event is free to attend.
Hopper, a mythmaker based in Kansas City, writes mythic fantasy rooted in Celtic mythology — told, as he puts it, through the voice of Lirian Ever-Weaver, a bard born of firelight and fading memory.
His debut novel, The Fianna Chronicles: Awakening (September 2025), draws on the legendary Fianna warriors of ancient Ireland and explores loyalty, identity, grief, and the magic of remembering what the world forgets. It has earned five-star reviews from Readers' Favorite and LitPick, which called it "a thrilling and compelling story full of adventure, suspense, magic, and purpose."
Readers who fall into Hopper's world will find more waiting: his companion chronicle, The Forbidden Geis, gathers seven darker tales of oaths, betrayals, and choices from the same mythic world.
The October 10 signing coincides with the Cameron Square Sip Shop Stroll, hosted by the Cameron Chamber of Commerce — making it a full day of community, conversation, and stories in the heart of downtown Cameron.
Sip, Shop & Stories is presented by Jillybean Publishing and the Cameron Community Voice on the second Saturday of each month at Cameron Coffee Company.
