MILAM COUNTY — The Milam County Mission is issuing an urgent call for service. We need our community to step up to protect, honor, and care for our elderly neighbors.
The mission is hosting its signature "Lend a Hand, Mow a Yard" community workdays, scheduled to provide free yard maintenance for seniors who can no longer handle it alone. Whether you can swing a weed eater, push a mower, or donate supplies, your hands are needed.
Please mark your calendars for these vital service dates:
📍 Cameron TX Yard Clean-Up
- Date: Saturday, June 27th
- Location: Meet at All Saints Episcopal Church
- Schedule: 7:00 AM for team assignments, wrapping up at 12:00 PM with a free lunch.
📍 Rockdale TX Yard Clean-Up
- Date: Saturday, July 11th
- Location: Meet at St. Thomas Episcopal Church
- Schedule: 7:00 AM for team assignments, wrapping up at 12:00 PM with a free lunch.
How You Can Serve
- Are you a senior who needs help? If you are in need of having your lawn mowed, or if you know an elderly neighbor who needs assistance, please contact us immediately so we can add the property to our route.
- Can you volunteer? We are actively searching for volunteers to help with mowing, weed eating, and general property cleanup for the "Lend a Hand, Mow a Yard" event.
- Can you sponsor? We need community sponsors to provide critical supplies, including gasoline, trimmer line, extra lawn equipment, snacks, and water for our crews.
