ROCKDALE — A joint investigation by the Rockdale Police Department, the Milam County Sheriff's Office, and the Temple Police Department has led to the arrests of two men and the seizure of more than 700 grams of methamphetamine, authorities announced Tuesday.

Cedric Mitchell and Raschel Arbuckle were located and arrested on Thursday, October 15, by Milam County deputies and Rockdale police officers for their alleged roles in a methamphetamine distribution scheme in Central Texas, according to a Rockdale Police Department news release.

The case grew out of a Temple Police Department investigation that began in the summer of 2026. During the investigation, officers conducted multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine before obtaining arrest warrants for the two men, the release states. The arrests netted over 700 grams of methamphetamine in total.

Mitchell and Arbuckle were taken to the Jack Harwell Detention Center, where they are being held pending federal indictment.

Mitchell and Arbuckle are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The release states the case remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

The arrests are part of a wider push against narcotics trafficking in the county through the Milam County Major Crimes & Narcotics Task Force, which was formed when Rockdale police officers took reserve commissions with the Milam County Sheriff's Office. The task force's goal, according to the release, is to partner with outside agencies such as the Temple Police Department to investigate and prevent major crimes and drug trafficking.
