CAMERON, TX — After nearly two decades of serving up authentic Central Texas barbecue, hand-cut steaks, and warm hospitality to Milam County, Clem Mikeska’s Bar-B-Q and Steakhouse has announced that its Cameron location will be closing its doors.
According to management, the restaurant's final day of operation in Cameron will be tomorrow Saturday, August 8th.
For 19 years, the local spot on East 1st Street has been a cornerstone of the community—hosting family dinners, community milestones, and casual lunches. Part of the legendary Mikeska family restaurant dynasty—which first established its roots in the region decades ago—the Cameron eatery brought true scratch-made barbecue, specialty tri-tip, brisket, and homemade sausage to local diners.
While the closure marks a bittersweet milestone for local patrons, the Mikeska legacy will continue just down the road. Regulars looking to satisfy their cravings can still visit the family's remaining Central Texas locations in Temple (1217 S. 57th St.) and Belton (2170 N. Main St.), which remain fully open and operational.
The community is encouraged to stop by the Cameron restaurant before Saturday to grab one last plate, share a memory, and thank the staff for 19 great years of service.
