CAMERON, Texas — Despite a warm Texas summer Saturday, job seekers turned out in force this past weekend for the inaugural Milam Futures Fest at The Yards.
Armed with résumés in hand, attendees navigated the grounds to connect directly with 18 diverse employers representing the region's top industries. From skilled trades and healthcare to public service and education, participants engaged in meaningful face-to-face conversations with hiring managers and local representatives.
Among the prominent organizations on site were GO Car Wash, Bradley Plumbing, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office, Temple College, the Lions Club, and Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, all connecting with local talent looking for their next career move.
While job seekers focused on professional opportunities, families enjoyed a vibrant community atmosphere just outside the main hiring area. Children and parents took advantage of the Kids Zone featuring bounce houses, while visitors explored a variety of local vendors and food trucks.
Organizers hailed the debut event as a great success for the community, combining essential economic momentum with family-friendly fun. With applications submitted and interviews sparked, the community looks forward to seeing many local residents step into new employment very soon.
