Friday, August 14

Yoemen Football Scrimmage vs. Taylor

• Time: 6:30 PM
• Location: Yoe Stadium, Cameron
• Details: Get your first look at the 2026 Cameron Yoemen as they take the field for a home preseason scrimmage against the Taylor Ducks. Come out, wear your maroon, and kick off the football season with some Yoemen Pride!

Saturday, August 15

Milam County 4-H Open House

• Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Location: Milam County Annex, 806 N. Crockett Ave., Cameron
• Details: Hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, this free "come-and-go" event invites youth and families to explore all that 4-H has to offer. Learn about projects in livestock judging, shooting sports, photography, theater, food and nutrition, plant ID, scholarships, and club enrollment.

Rockdale VFW Charity Dinner

• Time: 5:00 PM
• Location: George Hill Patterson Community Center, 609 Mill Ave., Rockdale
• Details: Support our local veterans and their families at this special charity benefit raising funds for renovations and updates at the Rockdale VFW. The evening features a delicious meal, live music, family-friendly activities, and an exclusive gun raffle. Presented in partnership with General Quarters Weaponry LLC and Milam County CASA.

Unk & Them on the Lawn

• Time: 7:00 PM
• Location: Cameron
• Details: Enjoy an evening outdoors featuring sounds and music by DJ D-Money (DJ D-Money 254 • In The Mix).

Sunday, August 16

St. Monica Catholic Church Homecoming Festival

• Time: Starts at 10:00 AM
• Location: 306 S. Nolan Ave., Cameron
• Details: St. Monica’s annual homecoming returns with a full day of food, music, and fellowship.
• 10:00 AM: Polka Mass featuring the Jodie Mikula Orchestra
• 10:30 AM: BBQ Beef & Sausage plates served until sold out ($15/plate, dine-in or drive-through to-go line)
• 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM: Bingo, game booths, food stands (tamales, burgers, sweets, and more), and live music by the Jodie Mikula Orchestra
• 2:30 PM: Live Auction
• Note: Don't forget to bring your lawn or foldable chairs!

Milam Community Theater: Rumors Auditions (Night 1)

• Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Location: 408 Columbus Ave., Cameron
• Details: Milam Community Theater is holding auditions for Neil Simon’s hit comedy farce Rumors. Casting calls for 8 principal roles (4 male, 4 female, plus 2 flex roles). A second audition night will take place Monday evening.

Mark Your Calendar for Monday, August 17

• Yoe High School Open House: 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM at Yoe High School. Parents and students are invited to walk the halls, meet teachers, and kick off the new school year.
• Milam Community Theater Rumors Auditions (Night 2): 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at 408 Columbus Ave., Cameron.
