Find Your Spark at the Milam County 4-H Open House!

Ever wondered what 4-H is really all about? Whether your child dreams of showing livestock, taking award-winning photographs, competing in judging contests, cooking, or becoming a stronger leader, there's a place for them in Milam County 4-H.

Families are invited to discover everything 4-H has to offer during the Milam County 4-H Open House on Saturday, August 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Milam County Annex, 806 N. Crockett in Cameron. This free, come-and-go event is the perfect opportunity to meet club leaders, visit with current 4-H members, ask questions, and explore the many opportunities available to youth in Milam County.

4-H is much more than ribbons and competitions. It's a place where young people build confidence, discover new interests, serve their communities, and make friendships that last for years.

"One thing I have learned through 4-H is how to be the best leader!" says Milam County 4-H member James Holcombe. From leading meetings to speaking in front of groups and organizing service projects, 4-H helps youth develop skills that carry far beyond their project work.

For Maddie Basonic, it's the people who make 4-H unforgettable. "I really like the community aspect of 4-H and how you will never spend a moment alone at a 4-H event." That's because 4-H quickly becomes more than a club. It becomes a second family filled with encouragement, teamwork, and lifelong friendships.
